FOUNDER STORY
In tennis, a let gives you another chance to play the point. For Winnie, it became a reminder to keep going.
She fell in love with the game at 10—the court became a place to reset and feel grounded. Years later, a serious car accident forced her to step away and rebuild, not only physically but mentally, alongside a series of life-altering challenges. While others chased rankings, she stayed quietly connected to the sport, holding onto the belief that she would return.
At 24, she lost her father to cancer a loss that reshaped her perspective on success, purpose, and resilience. It led her to create ALET, a brand rooted in the belief that the sport is about more than performance, it's about perseverance, resilience, recovery, and the ability to begin again.
Over time, she found her way back to the game, competing in ITF Masters events and training across Europe and Canada, including at the Justine Henin Academy. Along the way, she remained connected to the tennis community first volunteering in her early years with Tennis BC at junior and young adult events including the iconic Stanley Park Open and Davis Cup, and later continuing to support junior and young adult players as her journey evolved.
