FOUNDER STORY

In tennis, a let gives you another chance to play the point. For Winnie, it became a reminder to keep going.

She fell in love with tennis at the age of 10, finding in the sport a sense of purpose, belonging, and resilience. Life would later bring significant challenges, including the loss of her father and a serious car accident that forced her away from the game she loved. Yet through it all, her connection to tennis never faded.

Over time, she found her way back to the court, competing in ITF Masters events and training in both Europe and Canada, including at the Justine Henin Academy. Along the way, she remained closely connected to the sport through volunteering with Tennis BC at junior and young adult events, including the iconic Stanley Park Open and Davis Cup, and through a lifelong appreciation for the discipline, resilience, and values that tennis inspires.

Those experiences shaped a simple belief: tennis is about more than performance. It is about perseverance, resilience, recovery, and the courage to begin again.

From that belief, ALET was born.

All of this led to ALET.

Drawing from her background in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and experience supporting youth mental health, along with a lifelong appreciation for sport, Winnie founded ALET with the belief that what we wear should reflect not only how we perform, but how we move through life.

Her experiences shaped an understanding that performance is only one part of the journey and that resilience, well-being, recovery, and personal growth matter just as much beyond the court.

Inspired by the discipline of tennis, the beauty of graceful movement first discovered through Chinese dance as a child, and the lessons found in resilience, ALET was created to offer a more elevated and purposeful perspective on tennis apparel.

A self-proclaimed fabric enthusiast, Winnie brings that same philosophy into every detail, approaching design with care and precision, guided by inspiration, authenticity, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Her process begins with the fabric and evolves through movement, proportion, and detail considering how each element comes together both on and beyond the court.

At its heart is the belief that wherever we are in our journey, there is always A Chance to Begin Again.

Today, ALET is for those who move with purpose — on and off the court. For those embracing the journey, pursuing growth, and finding the courage to begin again.

ALET was shaped by her story. Now it continues through yours.
